Client Feedback

                  Working Spaniel Kennel

We check up on our pups from time to time to see how all is going with
training, hunting or just family life in general.  From what we can tell, all
the pups seem to be doing what they were intended to do...  become a
first class hunting companion and or an integral member of the family.
We would like to thank our clients for keeping us "in the loop" so that we
know exactly what kind of pups we have produced.  Please feel free to
email any of our clients that are listed below.  For a complete list of
references please email us and we will send you contact information
for everyone that has a pup from our program.  Some of the feedback
about our pups:

"At two and a half years old it is easy to see that Piper is the result of
very good breeding.  As my first attempt at training a bird dog she has
been the catalyst to a great experience as I also introduced my son to
the training and pheasant hunting at the same time.  Piper is the
friendliest dog around, all the neighbors love her.  She is extremely
well tempered, eager to learn, and doesn't stray at all (we have never
had the "pet fence" turned on).  People comment that she is
"so happy".  I worked her on dummies and retrieving from 4 months
and introduced her to live birds at around 8 months.  She was ready
for limited work with the gun around 10 months.  By 18 months she
could do multiple blind retrieves, and hunting over her in her second
year was such a reward.  She works well with the whistle, she is just
incredible to watch and a joy to own.  Stephen has been extremely
helpful throughout, from quick responses to my emails on training
questions to following up to see how things have worked out."

"Good evening Stephen, I send you a Nitro picture with my feelings
about this super pup."

"Since 25 years I hunt ducks, geese, ruffed grouses, woodcock and
rabbits always with Springers Spaniel. Nitro is very special dog, she
is hunting machine in the field and has very good temperament in
the house, she is a very good marker and retriever in the field and
in the water. At 26 weeks Nitro swim like an otter, is quartering to
the whistle in the field and in the woods, always the nose at the
ground. Nitro will be my best working springer in 25 years. Thank
you Stephen for your very good breeding."

"The dogs are doing great and are healthy.  My vet says that he can

tell they are the result of extremely good breeding.  His assistant even

commented that they seemed so calm for Springer Spaniels.  Many

folks aren't sure what type of dogs they are, especially Bella because

her look is so unique and different from the US E.S.S.  I am so

impressed with the temperament and disposition of these two and I

love educating everyone as to their pedigrees, etc."

"We just came in from a day in the woods - they really are

exceptional hunting dogs.  We would be happy to provide a reference

to anyone.  I have been checking your website frequently and I am

looking forward to seeing pictures of the new litter."

"You do a wonderful job with your breeding and I can't say enough

good things about these dogs."

"Good luck with the new pups!"

"I am way more than pleased with Penny, she has exceeded all my
expectations!  I certainly don't know what the future will hold, but
at this point in her hunting journey she is by far the best springer
I've ever owned.  On the domestic front as well she is the best dog
I've ever had bar none.  My wife is not a dog lover by any means,
but I've heard her bragging to her friends how great a dog Penny
is.  She has even admitted that she is considering allowing me to
get another pup from one of your future litters! The only complaint
she has left at this point is that Penny sheds her fur in the house."

"I will continue to keep you informed of Penny's progress and
hopefully I will again have the privilege of purchasing another
of your pups."

"Just to keep you updated on Briar...  he is doing great. I couldn't
imagine life without him right now. Although he is not used for
hunting, he does get frequent trips out into the woods on trail rides.
He is quite at home in the woods and fields, and enjoys sniffing out
game. Even without training, he seems to flush out birds, much to
my horse's dismay. The horses are getting used to things flying up
right in front of them, which is good, and Briar is truly having fun
which is even better."

"He is a wonderful dog, and has truly become a member of our
family.  I can't tell you the number of people who have asked
where we got him, as he is so well behaved as well as cute."

"Stephen, Tag is now 8 months old and wow can he move. He
works the cover with drive and passion without knowing what he
is looking for as he still has not been introduced to either fur or
feather. Tag has been given a few feather retrieves sparingly to
begin the introduction of game he has also retrieved a rabbit skin
dummy. He is becoming spot on being stopped by whistle as well
as voice and we have him coming in nicely now every time instead
of whenever he thought he should. Thanks for all the time and help
as it can be seen both in the field and at home as he is everyone's
new best friend to the point my sister cried when she realized in a
few short weeks he will be with Mandi and I at our new house
although not far away the thought of him not right there was
upsetting. Stephen I can still recall the time when I thought I had
just a real hot headstrong dog when you revealed to me in the
most kindest of ways that he was not headstrong but just slightly
immature. Hopefully we will be able to go walk a field together
shortly. Hope all is well with you and your family."

"Hi Stephen,"

"All is well with Easy (worspan pup #2) and I only have positive
things to say about the dog.  I'm attaching two pics here, just for
you to see how he's growing.  I know he's just a pup, but I'm very
convinced already that the instincts he's been bred for are very
strong with him. I get the feeling that he's a natural retreiver
already, and he maintains eye contact well and is very very eager
to do things right.  It really seems true that he wants to work with
me (just on little puppy stuff around the house so far and when
we go out for walks) and he tries to figure out what he's supposed
to do rather than how to get what he wants to do.  He's smart too
and he has a really sweet disposition.  I've been taking him around
to slowly socialize him, and he's approaching it all like a real
champ.  Also, I really appreciated you taking the time to show us
how your dogs work when we came to pick up the dog - it was
really interesting and I've been recognizing a lot of the parent's
behaviors in him."

"Stephen. all is well with trixie.  I could not be more happy with
this pup's outgoing little personality.  Shes not afraid of a thing.  I
take her for little puppy walks everyday in the woods in back of my
house and if I can walk through something she can.  She's very
bold but also affectionate.  I just received my Edward Martin discs.
His style of training really fits my style.  She goes for her next
round of shots next week.  Talk to ya later."

"Hey there!  Just touching base with you on our dog Jack- he was
sired by Sam & the Fiore-Walker's Daisy.  I can't sing his praises
enough quite honestly- seriously he's one of the best, smartest & even
tempered dogs I've had.  He's very agile, gentle & careful, awesome
with the kids & physically he's completely gorgeous, fast & accurate.
Anyway, just dropping you a line to let you know - I love him like
crazy!"

"Scout's doing great."

"I let her run around and investigate everything, and everytime she comes in we praise her play with her.  There's lots of high grass and brush, and just yesterday and today she discovered songbirds, and she's giving them a run whenever she sees them on the ground.  When she sees me with the puppy check cord, she is one happy camper."

"She turns to two pips, comes to a series of pips and to "Here", and is getting out and quartering naturally.  We bring her indoors multiple times a day, and occassionally, while she's still excited from getting indoors and jumping all over us, I throw her a dummy or rubber duck she's taken possession of, once, maayyyybe twice, along with her name as the release, and she gets right out and brings it back.  She likes to parade around with it, but I let her keep it and just praise the hell out of her.  The kids know not to play fetch with her under any circumstances."

"And that's all we're doing ... socializing, running her daily, and looking to anticipate a "teachable moment" so we can bring in a few commands.  I still haven't touched "Hup" or the single pip, and see no need to at the moment.  I walk her, give her two pips maybe three or four times during the course of a walk after setting her up so when she looks back she'll see me changing direction, and bring her in with a series of pips and a lot of affection waiting at the end of the run, at which point I put her back on the check cord and wlak her the last hundred yards or so back to the car."
