Working Spaniel Kennel

British Imported Gundogs for the Upland Hunting Enthusiast

Our Spaniels

 Working Spaniel Kennel

Our kennel is small and our dogs are few but what we lack in size we compensate for in quality.  Working Spaniel Kennel represents some of the finest breeding programs in Great Britain today.  The British have long stood by competent and thorough breeding practices to produce a first rate gundog.  Our kennel exemplifies these qualities first hand.

Rosebay Sam "Sam", our stud dog, has proven himself to be a superb all around flushing dog.  He will hunt any cover with absolute venom, great drive and style.  Steady to wing and shot, with an undying love for the retrieve, Sam is a thrill to gun over.  In his short 4 1/2 years Sam has sired 9 litters putting over 70 pups on the ground.  From what we have seen and heard about his offspring, Sam seems to stamp his pups solidly with his genetic traits.  Sam has been PennHIPed, CERFed, PFKed as well as DNA profiled.

Sam's Sire, FTCH Clarburgh Art, has produced many a champion in the "one hundred fifty-four" litters that he has put on the ground to date.  His genetic traits are highly sought after and very popular in the UK field trialing circle as you will find out on our UK Field Trial Results page.  Sam has a full sister (littermate) here in the US.  Her name is Rosebay Clover (Kizzy).  This past trialing season Kizzy competed in the 07US National Open Championship held in Midwest Owatonna, Minnesota.  She placed third as well as winning the Gun's Award!.  Congratulations to Kizzy and her handler, Mr. Paul McGaugh.

Cumbergrove Salcot Breeze, "Breeze", has been a treat to work with.  She is fearless in cover, hard driving and her nose is kept to the ground.  A very responsive dog who is keenly aware of where you are, Breeze is a joy to gun over.  Breeze has produced two very nice litters of pups for us now and she is a wonderful mother to say the least.  The older litter of pups all seem to be doing very well and they appear to be confident little hunting machines.   Breeze has been PennHIPed, CERFed, PFKed as well as DNA profiled.

Breeze's Sire, Rytex Ravery of Deepfleet, ran in the AV Spaniel Championship held in the UK two years straight now and he is currently residing here in the US with Bob Zenisek of Lynch Kennel.  Cumbergrove Serendipity, Breeze's Dam, has won her first trial this past year and we are expecting to see more from her as she progresses.

We are expanding our kennel to include a sparkling new bitch pup out of two very nice UK field trial champions.  Lynch's Nip of Worspan is a smart little pup out of FTCH Lynnian Bee and FTCH Nant-Y-Bwla Ricky.  Between these two spaniels a total of five appearances in the UK National Championship Trials have been made.  Quite impressive to say the least. Nip has returned home and commenced her training and testing.  She keeps her nose pinned to the ground and she has quite the little motor.  She is very responsive and has an energetic but soft nature about her.
